THE VERSE:

"guru yugatI se tAku gagan mein, tab jhalakai ek tArA re |
wah tArA gurudev batAvain, joti mahal kA dwArA re ||

duti nakshatra aru chhaTA Chandra ko, sUraj prabhA niyArA re |
guru prasAd lakhain jogI jan, kari andar paisArA re ||

shabd mahal mein surat chalai tab, pakaDi shabd kI dhArA re |
paiThat sunat shabd anahad jo, bAjat vividh prakArA re ||

TRANSLATION:

Gaze into the (inner) sky as taught by the Guru; a star would be sighted. |
This star, explains Gurudev, is the gateway to the Palace or Kingdom of Lights. ||

Radiance, constellations, splendour of moon, and rare brilliance of the sun come into the field of inner vision. |
Yogis, with the Guru's blessings and grace, get to see the above by penetrating within. ||

Subsequently the soul moves into the Palace of Sounds, holding onto the Current of Sound. |
Accessing here (the soul) listens to sounds of innumerable variety that keep ringing there. ||

In the Palace of Sound is grasped the Quintessential Word (Sound), which rescues (the soul) out of the ocean of transmigration. |
With the support and valuable prompts of Guru, says Shahi Swami, the surat (soul) gets attached to God. ||
